Gifts of Cash

Matching Gifts

Did you know that you can double the amount of your gift if your employer has a matching gift program? Some companies will also match gifts made by spouses and retirees. To increase your support for Erie, please contact your employer’s human resources department to obtain a matching gift form.

Gifts of Stock and Securities

A gift of appreciated stock or securities will go a long way to help Erie Family Health Center — and provide you with a significant income tax deduction for the full market value of the stock.

Notification of Donor Intent

For the purposes of proper acknowledgment and auditing, you (or the transferring broker) must provide the following information:

  • Your name and complete address
  • The number of shares and the name of the stock or securities transferred

Planned Gifts

Planned giving allows you to make a larger gift than you otherwise could out of your current assets. Depending on how a planned gift is set up, it may also enable you to receive a stream of income for life, earn higher investment yield or reduce your capital gains or estate taxes. Planned gifts often appeal to people who want to support a charitable organization like Erie, but are not certain about the percentage of their assets that they will need during their lifetime. The most common types of planned giving vehicles are gift annuities, charitable remainder trusts, charitable lead trusts, charitable bequests and beneficiary designations. Each year, many corporations partner with Erie Family Health Center to enhance the health and vitality of Chicago’s medically underserved communities. In-Kind Donations

Consider supporting Erie’s mission with an in-kind donation, such as:

  • Gift cards (to grocery stores or large retailers) as incentives for health education classes
  • New or gently used school uniforms (blue, white or burgundy)
  • Toys that encourage physical activity (balls, hula hoops or jump ropes)
  • Developmental toys for infants and toddlers
  • Stickers for children who receive shots
  • New or gently used books
  • School supplies, crayons and coloring books
  • New car seats
  • New or gently used baby clothes
  • New or gently used coats, hats and gloves
