David Bruce joined Erie Family Health Center in 2015 as Chief Financial Officer. In this role, Mr. Bruce is responsible for leading the development of Erie Family Health Center’s financial strategy and for the success of its financial operations. In addition, he manages key external relationships with health plans, managed care providers, government entities and other organizations. Mr. Bruce is charged with providing strategic financial leadership for Erie, ensuring that Erie adopts innovative approaches and maintains strong financial systems to support current operations and future growth.
Mr. Bruce is an accomplished health care finance professional, with a 27 year career of progressively responsible experience in the healthcare field. Prior to joining Erie, Mr. Bruce served as the Chief Financial Officer of Midwest Palliative & Hospice Care Center, which recently merged with two other hospices to become the largest home hospice non-profit company in Illinois. He also spent two decades in increasingly responsible roles at Baxter International, ultimately serving as the Director of Finance and Operations for their $400 million U.S. dialysis business. While at Baxter, he won the Finance Leadership Award and the Baxter Finance Innovation Award.
Mr. Bruce received a bachelor’s degree in finance from Indiana University and an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. He is a licensed CPA in Illinois.
