Important Updates about Health Benefits for Immigrant Adults

Your health insurance is provided by a Medicaid program called the “Health Benefits for Immigrant Adults (HBIA)” program. This program, and therefore your insurance, is ending soon.

Your last day of insurance coverage will be June 30, 2025.

Erie Family Health Centers strongly encourages you to do the following things while you still have insurance:

  • Schedule an appointment with your Erie healthcare provider by May 31st so that we can assist you with next steps.
    • Call Erie at 312-666-3494 or 847-666-3494
  • Fill your prescriptions before June 30th
  • Schedule any referral appointments your provider wants to you schedule very soon, so that those appointments can be completed before June 30th
  • Please let your Erie healthcare provider know if you could use assistance with any of these things
  • If you are due to renew your insurance coverage, please complete that process to make sure you have coverage until June 30th.

Erie cares for our patients with or without insurance, regardless of immigration status. We can continue to be your healthcare provider. Without insurance, however, you will need to apply for Erie’s sliding fee scale. Patients without insurance are charged on a sliding fee scale, which is based on family size and household income.
